I study ecology, and I see how disconnected we've become from the natural world. We use it. We extract from it. We barely see it as alive. But in John's vision, everything in heaven and earth is worshipping.
What if the trees and the seas and the creatures are worshipping and we're just deaf to it? What if creation itself is constantly proclaiming God's glory?
I'm taking my field research differently now. I'm not just measuring and analyzing. I'm listening. I'm observing with reverence. The pine forests and the river systems and the bird migrations - they're not resources. They're worshipping communities. I'm just invited to join.
It changes everything about how I approach conservation. We're not saving 'nature' like it's a museum piece. We're protecting worshipping communities. That feels sacred.
