The author says God was bringing many people to glory through Jesus. Not just saving them from hell, but bringing them into glory. That's a completely different goal than damage control.
I've been a Christian my whole life with this framework of escaping judgment. But if the goal is glory - becoming fully alive, fully developed, fully human the way God designed - that changes everything. This life isn't just a waiting room. It's where I'm being developed for glory.
It's making me approach my struggles differently. They're not just hard things to endure. They're refinement. They're how I'm being brought into glory. That's a much richer understanding of what God is doing in my life.
