I had always thought of blessings as earthly things - a good job, health, family. But Paul shifts my entire framework here. He's talking about spiritual blessings that exist in a dimension I can't see but absolutely can experience. It's like discovering there's a whole floor in the building I thought was only one story tall.
When I sit with this during my morning prayer, I ask myself: what blessings am I already carrying that I haven't noticed? Not the promotion or the healed relationship, but the positioning itself - being seated with Christ, covered by grace, claimed as God's child. These are not things I'm waiting for. They're already mine.
The Greek word for 'blessed' here is eulogetos, which literally means well-spoken of. God is speaking well of me before I've done anything to earn it. That reorients how I approach the day.
