How beautiful are the feet of one who brings good news, who announces salvation. What a strange way to praise someone. Not their eloquence, not their credentials, not their power. Their feet.
Feet are what carry you to the people who need hearing from God. Feet are what take you to hard places, dangerous places, places you might rather not go. When Isaiah praises feet, he's praising the willingness to go, the faithfulness to show up.
I've thought about this verse especially in times when what someone needs isn't impressive theology but just someone who would come. Who would take the hard steps to be present. Who would carry good news in person. That's beautiful. Not in the way a finished sermon is beautiful, but in the way faithful presence is beautiful. A messenger willing to walk toward suffering to announce that God hasn't abandoned it.
