I'm a missions director and I'm constantly asking people to step into uncertainty - to move to a new country, to learn a new language, to trust that God will provide. Abraham is the patron saint of that.
He went out not knowing where. That's not irresponsible, it's faithful. He knew the character of the person calling him. He didn't need the whole map - he needed to know that the one asking could be trusted.
I'm realizing that's what I'm asking of people, and that's what's being asked of me. Less about having a complete plan and more about trusting the character of the One leading. That's actually more stable than any strategy.
