“And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days:”
And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days — The Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) begins on the fifteenth of Tishri, five days after Atonement. This festival celebrates the ingathering of the harvest and commemorates the wilderness wandering when Israel dwelt in temporary shelters. The second generation will observe this festival in the land, remembering their parents' journey.
