“Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.”
But Moses and Aaron fell facedown and cried out, 'O God, God of the spirits of all mankind, will you be angry with the entire assembly?' — despite God's announced intention to destroy the entire congregation, Moses and Aaron intercede, appealing to God as the God of all human spirits (ruach), asking for mercy on the assembly's behalf.
