“And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;”
And when the men of that place recognized him, they sent around to all that region and brought to him all who were sick. The recognition by the local men of Gennesaret and the region-wide news-spreading that follows communicates the geographical reach of Jesus' healing reputation. All who were sick are brought to him — the sick in all that region — and the healings that follow are not described individually but collectively.

The Evangelist had related above that the Lord had commanded His disciples to enter the boat, and to go before Him across the strait; he now proceeds with the same intention to relate whither they arrived by their passage, 'And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennezareth.'
The land of Gennezar, by the lake of Gennezareth, takes its name from a natural power which it is said to have of spontaneously modulating its waters so as to excite a breeze; the Greek words importing, 'creating for itself the breeze.'
But the Evangelist shews that it was now long time since Christ had come into these parts; for it follows, 'And where the men of that place knew him, they sent into all that region.'
