The door of Simon and Andrew's home becomes the first gathering point of the kingdom movement, foreshadowing the later scene in Mark 2:2 where the house is so packed there is no room even near the door. The town's gathering is not described as seeking teaching or understanding but as bringing the suffering — the immediate need drives the assembly to the place where healing has begun.
