LUKE 24:20 — KING JAMES VERSION 0
“And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.”
The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him — the summary of the passion: chief priests and rulers, handed over, sentenced to death, crucified. The factual account without theological interpretation — the disciples are still in the grief of the raw events.
Church Fathers on Luke 24:20
After the manifestation of Christ’s resurrection made by the Angels to the women, the same resurrection is further manifested by an appearance of Christ Himself to His disciples; as it is said, And behold two of them.
Some say that Luke was one of these two, and for this reason concealed his name.
Or to two of the disciples by themselves our Lord showed Himself in the evening, namely, Ammaon and Cleophas.
