“They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.”
Blindly they wandered through the streets, so defiled with blood that no one was able to touch their garments—the verse describes priests wandering blindly, defiled with blood. The blindness suggests both literal sight loss and spiritual blindness (failure to see sin and corruption). Theologically, the verse presents the priests as blinded by their own blood guilt; they cannot see clearly because of the righteous blood they have shed.
