“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go — the third iteration of the strength/courage exhortation is now grounded explicitly in the presence of God. The negations ('do not be frightened... do not be dismayed') address the emotional dimensions of leadership under pressure, acknowledging that courage is often courage in the face of fear.
