“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.”
Jesus said to them, 'My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. — the repetition emphasizes this principle. The verb apoteleioo (to finish/complete) suggests the final accomplishment of redemption, anticipating his Passion. Jesus' entire existence is oriented toward completing the Father's redemptive work.

In the mean while His disciples prayed Him, saying, Master, eat.
They all ask Him at once, Him so fatigued with the journey and heat. This is not impatience in them, but simply love, and tenderness to their Master.
They think the pre sent time convenient for dining; it being after the departure of the woman to the city, and before the coming of the Samaritans; so that they sit at meat by themselves. This explains, In the mean while.
