“Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.”

Jesus said to him, 'If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? Follow me' — Jesus' conditional ('if I will') contemplates the beloved disciple remaining until the parousia, establishing the possibility of the church's continuance until Jesus' return. The rebuke ('what is that to you?') redirects Peter from comparative concern to personal obedience.
