When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, 'Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died' — Mary's words exactly parallel Martha's initial complaint (verse 21), but her action (falling at Jesus' feet) indicates a more emotional and physically demonstrative posture than Martha's.
