The pleasing aroma that moves God to promise is the same aroma produced by the ordination's burnt offering. Ephesians 5:2 says Christ gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God — the pleasing aroma of the ordination burnt offering is the type of the aroma of the cross.
