“Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?”
Qohelet's recommendation to consider God's work and recognize that one cannot straighten what God has made crooked suggests either divine design of the world's imperfection, or acceptance that human efforts to reform creation prove futile. The image of crookedness that cannot be straightened resonates with earlier observations about the fixed nature of things; fighting against what God has ordained wastes energy.
