“And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.”
Then they made Jason and the other believers post bond before letting them go — Bond-posting (lambano, to require a pledge) functioned as recognizance without detention, indicating the magistrates found no legal grounds for conviction but sought to suppress further disturbance.
