And this shall be the sign for you: This year eat what grows of itself, and in the second year what springs of the new growth; but in the third year sow, reap, harvest, and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit — Isaiah provides a 'sign' confirming the oracle: three years of agricultural disruption due to the siege and war, but by the third year, normal agricultural resumption.
