“And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said, O Lord God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.”
And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, saying, 'O LORD, the God of Israel, who are enthroned above the cherubim, you alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth — Hezekiah's prayer invokes the theophany of the temple: God 'enthroned above the cherubim' (יוֹשֵׁב הַכְּרוּבִים, *yoshev ha-keruvim*), the visible location of divine presence in the holy of holies.
