“The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valour were two thousand and six hundred.”
The pride narrative shift — 'But when he was strong, he grew proud, to his destruction. For he was unfaithful to the LORD his God' (ובכחו נשׂא לבו עד להשׁחית וַיִּמְעַל בַּיהוָה אֱלֹהָיו).
