The *riches and honor* come *as a consequence* of the wisdom request, not as primary gifts. The phrase *asher lo-hayah k'amokha melekh be-kol-yamekha* (no king among you shall be compared with you, all your days) extends the surpassing-ness into the realm of wealth and political power.
